Pre-sale septic inspections are an important part of the selling process. Home sellers want to make the most from this market boom, and so they should. An important step in selling your home which often goes overlooked is to inspect the septic system. Without having completed this, you can end up with extended terms that slow the entire sale process down by several weeks or months, at which time your home value may not be as great as it is currently.
What’s more, septic inspection will save you time and money during the sale process which means the attention of your first – or highest bidding – interested buyer. A pre-purchase septic inspection is key for your home sale for several reasons, including:
1) Cost Efficiency
When you hire a consultant we can produce the paperwork to show that you have done everything to prevent major complications from happening down the road. What’s more, if there are minor maintenance issues we can tackle them right away to ensure that you cannot be dinged with hefty septic fees for something that is not wrong with your system.
What’s more, catch it in time to put a term on the sale so that you don’t have to cover this cost now or in the future. Often times, land division permission can come down to a septic issue – either requiring an additional septic system, an inspection or fix of major complications. This process has been known to put home purchases on hold for more than a year!
A consultation by Septic Experts can report that the system has no foreseeable issues, minor foreseeable maintenance issues or major foreseeable issues which could result in hefty bills. By knowing that you have covered all of the risks associated with the septic system you can forgo some timely terms with your buyers and ensure that you don’t have to cover additional, and unnecessary, costs.
Even if the market is doing really great and you have many interested buyers you’ll be at ease to know that you have prevented all risks that they could potentially try to include in the sale terms.
Septic Expert provides the best service and quality in our industry when it comes to jobs that require consultation and it makes us happy to give you added peace of mind when purchasing a new home.
Just another step in guaranteeing that your home sale goes as planned without unexpected challenges.
Ask a Septic System Expert
What does it mean to be an expert in the septic system industry? You may be surprised to learn that – in addition to standard maintenance, inspection for pre-purchase and straight-forward installs – we are able to manage difficult septic installations and consult on system malfunctions that others in our industry cannot. As industry experts we have rightly earned our skill set and highly regarded reputation as the experts in septic installation, consultation and complicated septic questions.
Not to be confused with our septic installation competition; we charge the same industry standards for regular projects or maintenance, yet we are able to put a more skilled set of eyes on your system to prevent any foreseeable problems from the very first point of assessment and initial installation.

Our knowledge and experience allows us to solve any system malfunctions you may run into, even if we haven’t installed your system. We evaluate your system and generate a recommendation report based on its current operational effectiveness.

Septic System Treatments are basically cleaning tanks onsite for a wastewater (septic). They are used to purify the water no longer suitable for use – with minimal environmental issues – for the purpose of reuse or return into the water cycle. So, of course it makes sense that designers and installers like us should be attentive to these treatments. But, just as importantly, so should homeowners, engineers, environmentalists and fellow wastewater workers. Why? Wastewater is local. As a local business and community members we care about the wellbeing of our community and so should you.
Simply the Best
You may or may not be familiar with secondary treatment systems which are currently referred to in British Columbia as Aerobic Treatment Systems or ATUs. The problem with these choices is that they are often prone to problems such as odors and questionable performance.
Septic Expert trustfully relies on the world’s leading Japanese manufacturer of the domestic waterwaste system. The extremely well engineered Fusion System in the Fuij Clean Company, of which we hold a franchise, sees approximately 40,000 new installs every year in Japan. There are many reasons why it’s so popular and why we put our name behind it. Here are just a few:
- Compact Systems with Reliable High Performance
- Proven Design
- Easy Maintenance: easy and efficient to clean
- Lower Operational Cost
We Sell to All the Rest
Septic Expert has the Fuji Clean Franchise both to use ourselves and for other Septic Installers. So, if other companies need to consult on difficult jobs, we are the ones they come to. You can save yourself a lot of hassle by bringing us on from the beginning especially if you have a complex system that needs the skill set of real experts. if you have already started working another installer and find yourself needing a consult we are happy to work with you or your septic provider to find the best – and cleanest – possible system.
We are septic “experts” in the real sense of the word expert. Septic Expert is one of the few local (lower mainland) businesses that have the means to work on difficult builds, or even builds that others have said can’t be done.
Traveling often to remote, or sometimes boat-access-only sites, we have installed many one-of-a-kind systems for homeowners that require very specific needs. Often, home owners have contacted their local septic installer just to be told they cannot do the job. We are often called after another installer has turned the job down, due to lack of equipment, resources or experience.
There are varied issues with septic installs such as waterfront properties, islands, and/or remote, or boat-access sites. Many of these sites tend to have rocky ground with little soil, access issues requiring boats and barges, and difficulty meeting required setbacks from streams and watercourses. Lucky for our clients we have the means to access these sites and get the job done.
Because we have the means to get the job done, we have quickly become one of the most sought-out installers for these types of jobs. We are proud that we are not your average septic install company. It means that the jobs we put our name on are jobs that require an above-average skill and workmanship. Being one of the “Specialized” installers in the lower mainland is something Septic Expert takes great satisfaction in.
Do we install the less difficult jobs? You bet! You can also bet that we do exceptional work no matter what type of system we are putting in for our client. If our name is on the job, you know it has been done right – as we guarantee our installs for the life of the system.
The Fraser Valley of British Columbia has topography that makes it very challenging to design and install a septic system.
One thing many rural properties have in common is a lack of municipal lot line services. You can usually be assured that your new property will be able to tie into the hydro grid, and that a road of some type will be provided to your driveway, but tap water and sewage disposal is often considered to be the responsibility of the individual property owner. This raises some interesting design criteria, as you are being asked to draw your drinking water up from the reserves below your property, while also disposing of your waste in to the same reserves. Clearly great care must be taken to ensure that the waste water draining down does not contaminate the drinking water coming up.
This is one reason why, when shopping for quotes for a new septic system the prices can vary so widely. It can be simple and cheap to install a septic system that disposes of the waste water. But a septic system planner or designer must gives equal weight to the treatment of the waste water and thus the protection of groundwater resources. A contractor’s failure to consider waste water treatment in the interest of landing the job is an ethical breach. If you receive a quote for a new system that seems to be unusually low, it may be a good idea to ask the contractor what the plan was to mitigate contamination concerns. After all, it will be you and your family drinking the well water for years after the septic contractor has been paid and moved on. Read More
